After having just one positive COVID test among the team last week, Florida has announced five new players have tested positive for the virus this week.

Due to HIPAA laws, Florida is not permitted to name any of the players that test positive or the players that have to go into quarantine.

These are the only figures provided by the team’s athletic staff, which were updated on Tuesday:

Since Football Student-Athletes Returned to Campus on May 26

  • Total Tests on Campus: 1796
  • Total Positives on Campus: 37
  • Total Tests for October: 523
  • Total Positives for October: 6

The Gators host LSU this weekend in The Swamp and if you notice a handful of key players missing in action, there’s a good chance they are missing the action following this latest round of COVID testing in Gainesville.
