Does Steve Sarkisian taking over the Alabama program impact the Georgia game?

It does in Paul Finebaum’s mind.

The ESPN and SEC Network host was asked to share his thoughts on Sarkisian potentially taking over for Nick Saban for Saturday night’s Georgia game during a recent appearance on “First Take” this week.

“Yes. Steve Sarkisian would not be my choice to send out in the biggest game of the year,” Finebaum said. “He was average at Washington, he got fired at SC, not because of what he was going on the field, but because of what he was doing off the field. He’s not in Nick Saban’s league.”

Interestingly, Finebaum did not name one single coach on Alabama’s staff that would have made a better selection as an interim coach but his main point seems to be Sarkisian doesn’t match up with the greatest college football coach ever.

That’s real insight right there.
