Another Florida receiver announces he will not be playing in the Cotton Bowl
Kyle Trask is quickly running out of weapons heading into the upcoming Cotton Bowl.
If you missed it, All-American tight end Kyle Pitts, All-SEC receiver Kadarius Toney and senior Trevon Grimes have all opted out of Florida’s upcoming bowl game against Oklahoma.
Now comes word from Jacob Copeland that he will be unable to play in the game due to COVID testing.
“Due to testing Covid-19 positive multiple times I will not be playing in New Year’s 6 bowl game,” Copeland shared on Monday.
The redshirt sophomore is coming off his best season to date with the Gators after racking up 23 catches for 435 yards and three touchdowns this fall. Each of those numbers represents career highs for Copeland.
With all these players out heading into the Cotton Bowl, look for Justin Shorter (23 catches in 2020), Xzavier Henderson (8 catches) and Keon Zipperer (7 catches) to receive plenty of opportunities against the Sooners.
