Video: Alabama’s Cyrus Jones gets the scoring started with 69-yard punt return
Alabama and Mississippi State were locked in a scoreless game up until the 10:44 mark in the second quarter.
That’s when the Tide’s senior Cyrus Jones saw a seam and blew through it on a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown to help Alabama to a 7-0 lead.
It was the Tide’s first “traditional” punt return taken back to the house. Minkah Fitzpatrick’s blocked punt for a 15-yard touchdown against Georgia in Week 5 counts as a punt return TD, so this is technically the second for Alabama this season.

However, there may have been a block in the back on the return that wasn’t called, and it got some attention in the Twitter world.
Blatant block in the back not called on Bama TD return. Refs on a roll nationwide today. C'mon.

CBS replay seemed to show pretty clear block in the back on Alabama punt return TD.

Yes, a block in the back should have been called on Minkah Fitzpatrick. No, Logan Cooke wouldn't have made the play. Mullen should be mad.
