Dabo Swinney is now the second-highest paid head coach in the nation behind only Nick Saban.

The Clemson head coach reached a deal with the university that extends his contract to $115 million across 10 years. He’s set to earn $11.5 million each season.

Clemson confirmed the initial report Thursday morning.

Swinney took Clemson to the top of the college football landscape in 2016 and 2018. The Tigers haven’t lived up to expectations since, but look primed to make another run this season as a top 5 team in the country. Swinney is 151-36 since taking over for Clemson in 2008.

Is this type of extension deserved?
