Dabo Swinney shares disappointment for FSU’s Playoff snub: ‘I feel so bad for those players’

Dabo Swinney understands the pushback to the College Football Playoff committee’s decision to leave Florida State out of the final field. In spite of an undefeated record and ACC title, the Seminoles were left out largely based on the injury to star QB Jordan Travis.
Speaking at a Thursday teleconference, Swinney admitted he feels “so bad” for the players and coaches at FSU and labeled it “a flawed system.” He also expressed hating that the committee made their decision “about one player” in what is a team sport.
“I feel so bad for those players and coaches,” said Swinney. “It’s a flawed system but it’s what we got at this time. Just hate that they made it all about one player and minimized the impact and importance of all those other players. Football is a team sport.”

Swinney is far from the only one upset by the committee’s treatment of FSU. Star LSU QB Jayden Daniels even admitted he believes the decision came down to TV ratings and viewership potential.
