Daimion Collins was a 5-star freshman at Kentucky this past season. In fact, while fellow 5-star freshman TyTy Washington was ranked No. 15 overall in the 2021 recruiting class by the 247Sports composite ratings, Collins was No. 16 overall.
But, Collins didn’t get the minutes Washington got this year. He averaged only 7.4 minutes per game, appearing in 27 contests for the Wildcats with 1 start.
Now, according to a report from 247Sports, Collins has decided to return to Lexington for his sophomore campaign:
Daimion Collins, a former five-star prospect and current Kentucky PF, will return to Kentucky for his sophomore season, sources told @247Sports.
Was a possibility to enter the transfer portal but will remain in Lexington.

As Travis Branham mentions in the tweet above, Collins was also a potential possibility to enter the transfer portal and play elsewhere. Instead, he’ll be a big piece of the front court for coach John Calipari and the Wildcats during the 2022-23 season.
Collins averaged 2.9 points and 2.0 rebounds per game as a freshman.
