Former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott was in the middle of some of the best years in program history, especially under coach Dan Mullen.
With the fresh reports of Mullen reportedly in negotiations to become Florida’s next coach, Prescott told reporters that he didn’t think Mullen would go back to Florida where he previously was an offensive coordinator and coached Tim Tebow.
“But hey, money talks,” Prescott said. “It is what it is. Not surprising because I didn’t expect him to stay at Mississippi State much longer.”
Prescott holds 38 school records at Mississippi State, and was named the 2016 Senior Bowl Most Outstanding Player. One of four players in FBS history and the second player in SEC history (Tim Tebow) to throw for 70 touchdowns and rush for 40 touchdowns in a career. Like Tebow, he’s one 10 players in FBS history and the second player in SEC history to pass for 8,500 yards and rush for 2,000 yards.
He was named the first-team All-SEC quarterback in both 2014 and 2015. Prescott finished his career in Starkville third all-time in total yards, and fourth all-time in total touchdowns.
