Dak Prescott only threw at Mississippi State’s Pro Day on Thursday, and he showed some upside and downside.

Prescott tossed roughly 70 throws as he showed off good accuracy, footwork and a tighter release on the first 40 that were short. However, he began to struggle a little as his routine went to the intermediate and deeper throws at the Palmeiro Center in Starkville.

At one point, Prescott missed five consecutive passes while throwing deep corner routes. SEC Network’s Greg McElroy, a former Alabama QB, pointed out that Prescott’s elbow tends to drop as he throws intermediate to deep balls.

Once he was finished, McElroy said that Prescott showed NFL teams his base, in other words his strengths, while showing what he needs to improve on.

As a whole, Prescott’s routine was fast-paced with not much rest between throws as he tried to simulate his ability to run a two-minute drill and not show a drop in accuracy despite a high volume of throws.
