Dakota Jordan entered the transfer portal Tuesday evening following a strong season in the Bulldogs’ outfield.

But he wasn’t in the portal for very long. On Wednesday morning Jordan withdrew his name from the portal, according to a report from D1baseball’s Kendall Rogers.

That’s great news for Bulldogs fans, some of which probably never knew he entered the portal in the first place. Jordan had a solid season for MSU in 2023, finishing with 10 home runs and 40 RBI at the plate while hitting .307.

He finished 2nd best on the team in hits as a sophomore and will likely take a larger role heading into 2024:

Mississippi State had a rough season in 2023, finishing 27-26 and 9-21 in the conference. The Bulldogs were one of 4 SEC programs to not make the NCAA Tournament alongside Georgia, Ole Miss and Mizzou.

This is why the retention of Jordan is a needed win for the Bulldogs in the long run.
