Damar Hamlin continues to improve, according to the physicians at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Buffalo Bills shared an update Thursday morning on Hamlin, who has been in the hospital since his on-field collapse Monday night. The Bills’ update states that Hamlin has shown “remarkable improvement” over the past 24 hours, per UCMC doctors. While Hamlin is still “critically ill,” he appears to be “neurologically intact.” Hamlin’s lungs are healing as he recovers.

Bills teammate Kaiir Elam also tweeted Thursday morning, sharing that Hamlin is awake and showing signs of improvement.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media adds that Hamlin is gripping the hands of visitors.

The positive updates on Hamlin are welcome news to football fans everywhere who have been praying for the Bills safety since his terrifying collapse on the field during the Bills’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals. After hospitalization, the Bills confirmed that Hamlin went into cardiac arrest and received CPR on the field before being transported by ambulance.
