Though Florida defensive back Marco Wilson’s father revealed the sophomore suffered a season-ending knee injury late Saturday night, Gators coach Dan Mullen officially confirmed the news during his Monday press conference.

Wilson sustained the torn ACL during Florida’s 27-16 loss to Kentucky, which snapped the team’s 31-game winning streak in the rivalry. Now the Gators must move on from the defeat while also finding a replacement for their lockdown cornerback.

“Obviously, a big, big loss for us,” Mullen told reporters.

Wilson started every game for Florida last season, posting a team-high 10 pass breakups. He added another to his name this year before going down against the Wildcats.

Florida (1-1) hosts Colorado State at 4 p.m. Saturday on the SEC Network.
