Dan Mullen during halftime of the Mississippi State at Arkansas game on ESPN spelled out how Tennessee can beat Alabama. But fellow analyst Joey Galloway didn’t buy it.

“That Alabama defense is tough. Last year’s game was such a shootout, this is going to be a defensive battle,” Mullen said. “Tennessee is a much improved defensive team as well. I’m excited to see how the Alabama offensive line, that has not looked great this year, handles that defensive front of Tennessee.”

Host Matt Barrie then asked Mullen if Tennessee can win.

“I think they can because it can be a low-scoring game,” Mullen said. “But I don’t trust Joe Milton’s accuracy throwing the football when they’re going to need it. Alabama’s going to win, (but) there’s a chance (for Tennessee).”

Galloway said for Tennessee, the key is to run the ball: “I just don’t know if they can do it against Alabama.” While Galloway was confident that Alabama will win, he was less sure about the Crimson Tide covering the 9-point spread.

“I wouldn’t go that far,” he said.
