Dan Mullen officially has his Gator program rolling.

Florida got its first win over a top 5 team of the Mullen era, on its first attempt no less, in Gainesville on Saturday with a 27-19 win over Ed Orgeron and his LSU program. The Gators were aided by a soldout crowd that was rocking all game long.

Immediately after the game, Mullen was asked to share his comments on the difference in the game.

“In the third quarter, that middle stretch, it got physical we but doubled down, made plays,” Mullen said. “This team found a way to win, we did it again. It’s great to see the Swamp giving us a homefield advantage.”

The Gator coach on the performance of Feleipe Franks (the QB finished the game completing 12 of 27 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Franks also added 42 rushing yards in the contest):

“He did a heck of a job. He was getting banged up, they did a good job of getting pressure on us,” Mullen responded. “He never flinched, he did a great job managing plays and doing what we asked him to do. He kept his focus and kept making plays.”

Finally, Mullen was asked if the Swamp alive again:

“Certainly looks that way,” he continued. “It’s great to be a Florida Gator! With these fans, all these people, to get this program back to win championships that they expect around here. It’s the students, the fans, to create this atmosphere and make the Swamp the best homefield advantage in all of college football.”
