If not for a handful of miscues, Florida would be absolutely dominating Georgia in this game.

Even with the issues, the Gators are in complete control of the latest edition of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party thanks to a high-powered offense and Georgia’s inability to string together many long drives on Florida’s improved defense.

At the halftime break, Florida is up 38-21.

Kyle Trask has completed 20 of his 26 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns in the first half but he did throw one interception in the game. While Florida can live with a single turnover, that one was a pick six as Georgia corner Eric Stokes returned the Trask pass for a touchdown.

Florida also allowed Georgia running back to bust loose for a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the game and nearly allowed a kick off to be returned for a score. Those are the issues by Florida have helped keep Georgia in the game at the halftime break.

The Gators have 411 yards of total offense in the first half and have converted six of nine third downs.

On the other sideline, Stetson Bennett has completed four of 12 passes for 70 yards and a score.

At the break, Kirby Smart shared his thoughts on why his team is struggling to contain the Gators.
