Dan Mullen had the perfect answer when asked about Florida’s recent problems on offense

After years of Danny Wuerffel and Rex Grossman airing it out in the Fun N Gun and Tim Tebow stiff-arming defenders en route to the end zone, the Florida offense has quieted down.
After Tebow and, later, Urban Meyer left Gainesville, the Gators offensive attack became noticably less potent. In the previous seven seasons – the tenures of Will Muschamp and Jim McElwain – UF has failed to average 30 points a game.
At Florida’s media day on Thursday, Mullen was asked if he considered the scoring stat shocking. He replied with the perfect answer.
“Yes, but I say shocking because I wasn’t here,” Mullen said.
In fairness to Mullen, he was likely trying to avoid assessing teams he didn’t coach (or coach against), but it’s more fun to take the quote as it reads (without context) and think that perhaps all those years of wearing Yeezys in Starkville gave Mullen some Kanye West-level cockiness.
Either way, Florida fans are hopeful that the return of Mullen’s offense to Gainesville leads to seeing more scoring in The Swamp this fall.
Mullen asked if it's "shocking" #Gators have only averaged 30+ point per game once in last 7 years: "Yes, but I say shocking because I wasn't here."
