Dan Mullen – and no doubt, the rest of the country – liked what they saw from Texas in Week 2 against Michigan.

There’s plenty of talk that the Wolverines were overrated, but that doesn’t discount what the Longhorns were able to do up in Ann Arbor this weekend. Texas was on top from the jump and never trailed, beating the No. 10 Wolverines 31-12 in the Big House. Quarterback Quinn Ewers was impressive, tossing for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.

For that reason, Texas and Ewers made Mullen’s list of weekly superlatives for their efforts. Texas was named a team of the week (alongside Tennessee, Northern Illinois, Iowa State and South Carolina) while Ewers was named a top quarterback of the weekend alongside names such as Kyle McCord and Cade Klubnik.

Here’s Mullen’s favorites from Week 2:

Tennessee and South Carolina also deserve a nod, as Mullen suggested. The Vols looked fantastic against No. 24 NC State and completely dominated the line of scrimmage en route to a 51-10 shellacking in Charlotte.

South Carolina was too much for Kentucky in Lexington, a bit of a shock to those who watched the Gamecocks in Week 1. LaNorris Sellers – perhaps shaking off the nerves – looked good after a dreadful outing against Old Dominion, and Dylan Stewart once again looked like the best true freshmen in the nation. The jury is far from out on these Gamecocks, who are now 2-0 on the season.
