Dan Mullen was once a winning coach in the SEC. Now, Mullen can be seen on ESPN breaking down the biggest games in college football.
Every once in a while, Mullen reveals his own top-25 list. After a wild Week 13, the coach-turned-analyst revealed his updated rankings. Mullen has the same 5 teams at the top of his rankings as the latest AP Poll: Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, and Notre Dame.
The order of the top-5 is the same as well, except Mullen has Penn State and Notre Dame swapped. Check out Mullen’s entire top-25 here:
- Oregon
- Ohio State
- Texas
- Notre Dame
- Penn State
- SMU
- Miami
- Georgia
- Tennessee
- Boise State
- Indiana
- Ole Miss
- South Carolina
- Clemson
- Arizona State
- Alabama
- Texas A&M
- BYU
- Iowa State
- Tulane
- UNLV
- Kansas State
- Duke
- Colorado
- Army
Mullen’s top 10 has the same teams as the AP Poll as well, except Mullen included Boise State while the AP included Indiana. The only team to make Mullen’s ranking and not the AP is Kansas State.
Indiana, Ole Miss, and Alabama took falls after losing in Week 13. The Hoosiers’ perfect season is no longer intact while the Rebels and Tide each picked up their 3rd loss.
The coach has SMU ahead of Miami, while the AP Poll has the opposite. The Mustangs clinched a spot in the ACC Championship Game in their first season in the conference, with the Hurricanes being their most likely opponent.
While much of the rankings seem set at this point, rivalry weekend can always throw a wrench or two in things.
