Dan Mullen not a fan of Florida having 3-straight home games to start 2018 season

The Florida Gators open the 2018 season with three very manageable home games against Charleston Southern, Kentucky and Colorado State.

You’d think a new coach like Dan Mullen would like getting to work on things with his team at home before hitting the road, but he said during an event in Miami this week that that’s not the case at all.

According to Mullen, he would rather have a balanced home-road schedule that doesn’t load up either way (via 247Sports):

“I love spreading it out more. I don’t always like having three in a row at home or three in a row on the road,” Mullen said Wednesday in Miami. “I know Scott (Stricklin) is the same way, we’re always scheduling to balance it out but you can only control so much.”

The Gators hit the road for three of their next four games following the opening stretch, but also have a three-game homestand following the Georgia game in Jacksonville on Oct. 27.

So, while Mullen may not be a fan of staying in one place too long, the Gators will have plenty of opportunities to showcase their skills in Gainesville this fall.
