Dan Mullen returns Twitter jab at Lane Kiffin, calls for dinner in Boca Raton

Two of the newest coaches in Florida have spent time recently trading barbs on Twitter about who controls the Sunshine State.
With Lane Kiffin’s new 10-year contract at Florida Atlantic, Dan Mullen, the new Florida coach, posted a congratulatory tweet, and that Kiffin should pick up the check for dinner when Mullen’s next in Boca Raton.
It followed Kiffin’s welcoming of Mullen to Florida last month, which he called “FAU’s state.” Mullen instead called it the “great state of UF.”
Even with a considerable raise from his reported $1 million a year salary, Kiffin is still likely far behind Mullen’s $6 million per year contract.
Florida Atlantic (10-3) will play Akron tonight in the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl after winning nine straight games, including the Conference USA championship. The 10 wins are the most in program history.
With these two big personalities likely crossing paths year round, look for more of this kind of banter from both of them.
Congrats @Lane_Kiffin. Glad you’re staying in the great state of @UF. ??? Dinner on you next time I’m in Boca Raton. https://t.co/fLuswKCv9T
