Florida got off to a slow start against Tennessee, allowing turnovers and penalties to let the Volunteers hang around, but eventually pulled away to a comfortable 34-3 victory on Saturday in The Swamp.
The biggest storyline of the day was Gators QB Kyle Trask making his first start. It was not only the redshirt senior’s first career college start, but Trask had not started a game since he was 14-years-old. Trask’s first start went well as he finished 20-of-28 passing for 293 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs.
After the game, UF head coach Dan Mullen spoke to the media to talk about Trask’s performance, Florida’s defensive effort and more.
Here’s a sample of what Mullen told reporters in Gainesville after the game:

Mullen on #Gators QB Kyle Trask’s performance: “I thought he played both solid. Both interceptions, kind of threw in cover, but wasn’t like he threw to a (defensive) guy.” Added he thought Trask “was relaxed”, especially for someone who hadn’t “been in that situation before”.

Mullen says the interceptions today were ok. Thinks Trask was aggressive. He's not happy with the fumbles. "We can fix (interceptions)… fumbles though, not good. We gotta fix those."

Mullen says if Trask had hit DB in the chest that would really bother him. The INTs by Trask today are things they can coach up and improve upon
