Dan Mullen throws major shade at Florida during loss against rival Miami
Dan Mullen took notice of Florida’s embarrassing performance against Miami on Saturday afternoon.
The former Florida coach was fired by the program after the conclusion of the 2021 season. He was dismissed following a tenure that included back-to-back double-digit win seasons — a feat that seems like a distant dream for the current state of the Gators’ program.
In the midst of Florida getting blown out by Miami, Mullen’s ESPN colleague Matt Barrie pointed out that UF’s previous coach was fired after taking the Gators to 3 consecutive New Year’s Six bowl games.
Mullen then retweeted that observation:

Napier is certainly on the hot seat as he begins his 3rd season in Gainesville. The Gators went just 3-5 in SEC play in each of their first 2 seasons with him at the helm. Florida also failed to reach a bowl game last year for just the 3rd time since 1990.
To make matters worse, Florida has a very tough schedule this season. In addition to playing 8 SEC games, the Gators also face Miami, Florida State and UCF in nonconference play.
Napier and Florida will hope to get in the win column in Week 2 against Samford.
