D’Andre Swift shares the latest on his injured shoulder, thoughts on pending draft decision
While many of his teammates won’t be participating in the upcoming Sugar Bowl against Baylor, D’Andre Swift is still giving his all for Georgia.
Considering Swift may be the nation’s best running back prospect, it would be understandable if he decided to sit out the Sugar Bowl but when you compound that fact that the team captain is battling a shoulder injury, sitting out would be accepted by many Bulldog fans.
However, despite being limited, Swift continues to rehab just to get on the field and finish out the season the right way for Kirby Smart’s program.
Swift met with reporters on Sunday for his Sugar Bowl media availability and while he admitted he is feeling better than he did against LSU in the 2019 SEC Championship Game, the junior running back admits his injury has been frustrating to deal with to finish out the year.
“Real frustrated. I love the game of football,” Swift said on Sunday. “Those are my brothers. Not being able to put my best foot forward is definitely frustrating but I’m doing everything I can to do that. I’m trying to play.”
According to Swift, he still has yet to make a decision on whether to declare early for the 2020 NFL Draft.
“I’m still evaluating, trying to get the right information back, make sure it’s the right decision for me, my family,” Swift said of his pending decision.
As for when that decision will come, Swift simply said it would be made after Georgia’s appearance in the Sugar Bowl. When you take all the factors Swift is dealing with into consideration, no matter how many snaps he plays against Baylor, you have to respect the way Swift is handling his business leading up to the Sugar Bowl.
