The first full weekend of the college football season brought plenty of interesting results, leaving analysts and fans to revisit their preseason rankings.

On Wednesday, former Florida State quarterback Danny Kanell, a CBS Sports analyst and SiriusXM host, revealed his top 8 teams.

Three SEC teams were among Kanell’s top 8, with Alabama holding the top spot after its 44-13 destruction over then Miami on Saturday.

Also representing the SEC were Georgia at No. 3 and Texas A&M at No. 7. The Bulldogs had arguably the most impressive win of Week 1, defeating then Clemson, 10-3, while the Aggies overcame a sloppy start to cruise past Kent State, 41-10.

Rounding out the top 8 for Kanell, who clarified that his picks are based on resume and not brand, are Ohio State at No. 2, Penn State at No. 4, UCLA at No. 5, Notre Dame at No. 6, and Iowa at No. 8.
