It’s still August, but Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutsman is putting together a pretty good case for teammate of the year.
On Wednesday night, Stutsman informed his teammates that he’s going to donate a “large portion” of his NIL earnings to Oklahoma’s walk-ons.
“Obviously, there’s days where you feel like your hard work doesn’t get seen, doesn’t get noticed,” Stutsman says in the video while addressing Oklahoma’s walk-ons. “But it really does here at Oklahoma. And every single day we appreciate you guys. This team would be nothing without you guys. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I truly do mean that. And I feel like I have a really good connection with all you guys and I just know how much you guys put into this program.
“With that being said, I wanted to donate some of my NIL earnings to you guys so that you guys could have a little something else.”
Here’s video of Stutsman telling the team of his decision:

Stutsman is expected to be one of Oklahoma’s best players in 2024, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Along with safety Billy Bowman, Stutsman was 1 of 2 Oklahoma players named to the 2024 preseason all-SEC team that was released earlier this summer.
Oklahoma will open the 2024 season on Friday night against Temple.
