After having to wait until the 2nd day of the NFL Draft to hear his name called, Azeez Ojulari finally found himself off the board as the New York Giants selected him with the 50th overall pick. In New York, he will be reunited with former Georgia teammates Andrew Thomas and Tae Crowder and another former Dawg in Lorenzo Carter.

He’ll also be teammates with not only Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley but former Auburn wide receiver Darius Slayton, a 5th-round pick in 2019 that heads into his 3rd season.

Slayton was in Cleveland on Friday to announce the Giants’ selection of Ojulari, which you can watch below:

He’d later take to Twitter to welcome his new teammate into the fold in rather humorous fashion:

Credit to Slayton for indeed nailing the pronunciation of the Georgia star’s last name. Despite Ojulari’s drop into the 2nd round, he now joins a pipeline of former SEC stars from UGA in Carter, Crowder and Thomas in hopes of enjoying a successful NFL career.
