No. 1 Georgia has an opportunity to make it a 7-0 start as it faces No. 11 Kentucky at Sanford Stadium on Saturday.
Kentucky has exhibited a strong offense led by Chris Rodriguez – the leading rusher in the SEC – and the conference’s leader in receiving yards in Wan’Dale Robinson. Both are a major reason why the Wildcats are off to their best start in over 70 years; Rodriguez has failed to get over the 125-yard mark just twice, while Robinson proved himself as an impact transfer right out of the gate.
Saturday represents their stiffest test yet, though. And Pollack, Georgia’s all-time leader in sacks, feels that the Wildcats will be the latest team to struggle with what’s been an elite Georgia defense through 6 games – one he feels could be among the greatest ever.
“This defense is starting to chase greatness now,” the Bulldogs legend and “College GameDay” analyst said on ESPN Radio’s “Keyshawn, J-Will and Max” on Friday. “It’s starting to chase 2011 Alabama for all-time great. 33 points in six games. Bama gave up 30 plus to A&M last week. Like this is an all-time great defense that we’re watching.”
Georgia and Kentucky kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
