David Pollack pays tribute to late Georgia legend Vince Dooley on College GameDay
The University of Georgia athletics community is mourning the loss of Vince Dooley, who passed away on Friday.
The mourning will likely linger for quite some time given the immense presence that Dooley had in Athens.
ESPN college football analyst David Pollack played for the Bulldogs under Mark Richt.
But Pollack knew Dooley well and took time during ESPN’s College “GameDay” on Saturday to pay tribute to the former Bulldogs’ football coach and athletic director.
“Legendary coach, coached for 25 years, AD for 26 years,” Pollack said. “He was just an unbelievable human being. … Last year I got inducted into the college football Hall of Fame. He’s 89, and he’s like, ‘wouldn’t miss it for the world.’ Flies across the country to Las Vegas to come to it. … One of the best people you’ll ever meet in your life.”
Thankful for the impact that Vince Dooley made in my life, my family's life, the @PollackFF, the Athens community, in college athletics and in his military service to this nation. Forever grateful for an unbelievably amazing man! pic.twitter.com/jpV1UI2cCW
