There will be steep competition this season for Offensive Rookie of the Year, but ESPN analyst David Pollack has a favorite for the award.

Pollack believes Alabama running back Najee Harris will take home the honor after the 2021 season. Here’s his explanation:

“He’s going to touch the ball a lot, he’s going to catch the ball a lot, he’s going to get a lot of fantasy football points — you’re welcome,” Pollack said, via 247Sports. “He’s going to make a lot of money, do really well and be productive right away.”

Harris is going to a great situation. He’s expected to be a workhorse running back for the Steelers after they picked him in the first round on Thursday. Pittsburgh’s other running backs include Benny Snell, Anthony McFarland and Kalen Ballage. James Conner left the Steelers this offseason and is now on the Arizona Cardinals.

Harris is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at Alabama. In four years as a contributor for the Crimson Tide, he amassed 3,843 yards and 46 touchdowns. He also caught 80 passes for 781 yards and 11 scores through the air.

His biggest challenge to Rookie of the Year honors will likely be the group of first round quarterbacks this season. Former Florida star Kyle Pitts will also likely be in the conversation.

The last running back to win the award was Saquon Barkley in 2018.
