David Robertson is wishing he had that one back.
The former Alabama standout injured his right calf celebrating Philadelphia’s win over St. Louis and will miss the Phillies’ NLDS series against the Atlanta Braves. That’s a huge loss for the Phillies, who are looking to knock off the reigning champs.
“Last game against St. Louis when Harper hit the home run, he jumped up and strained his right calf,” Philadelphia manager Rob Thomson said, via AL.com. “so he was not available for the last game.”
The exact timing came when Bryce Harper hit a home run to go up 2-0 on Saturday.
Robertson has played 731 games across his career, having entered the Majors in 2008 with the Yankees. 2022 is his first year back with the Phillies following a 2019 stint. Robertson was working with a 2.70 ERA as a reliever.
