Dawn Staley is trading the hardwood for the diamond on Monday.
The South Carolina women’s basketball coach will throw out the first pitch ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies NLCS matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Staley is a Philadelphia native and die hard Philly sports fan. She’s been known to rock Eagles gear while coaching in the past, so it only made sense for the Phillies to bring out Staley for the special honor.
After Staley gets done on the mound, it’ll be back to the court to get South Carolina ready for another season.
The Gamecocks are coming off a historical season that saw them go 36-1 with their only loss coming in the Final Four to Iowa. South Carolina will tip-off its season in Paris against Notre Dame.
The Phillies are hoping that bringing out a hometown legend will lead to success against the Diamondbacks. The Phillies are looking to make a second-straight appearance in the World Series.
