Dee Williams has waited patiently. He had a punt return for a touchdown against South Carolina called back following a block in the back.

But he was always going to house one. It was coming eventually.

That moment came during the 3rd quarter of Tennessee’s Week 7 game against Texas A&M. With the Aggies pushed back to the goal line, Williams returned the Aggies punt just over 40 yards to give the Vols a 14-10 lead.

He had to work for it, too. Here’s a look at Williams return:

The above is Williams’ 2nd punt return touchdown across his Tennessee career, and it could not have come at a better time. The Vols passing offense has looked less than ideal, but that could just be the spark the Vols need.

While we’re here, let’s appreciate the punt and defensive effort to set up that return in the first place. Jackson Ross, the Vols’ 2-way punter, placed the ball perfectly at the 1-yard line. Texas A&M was not able to move the ball even an inch and the rest is history.

The Vols lead Texas A&M 14-13 with 4 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter.
