Former South Carolina star Deebo Samuel now owns a piece of Super Bowl history.

During the first quarter of Sunday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Samuel took a reverse pitch and ripped off a 32-yard run breaking former Gators star Percy Harvin’s Super Bowl record. Harvin previously held the record with a 30-yard run in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Interestingly, Las Vegas set Samuel’s over/under rushing at 13.5, and he hit the over on his first attempt.

Samuel’s long run helped the 49ers drive down and take the early 3-0 lead against the Chiefs.

The 49ers drafted Samuel in the second round (No. 36 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he’s had a strong rookie season. Entering the Super Bowl, Samuel had recorded 57 catches for 802 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing 14 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns.
