Deebo Samuel suffered an apparent serious injury late in the second quarter of the San Francisco 49ers game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was carted off the field.
The injury happened after Samuel received a handoff, and tried to twist up field, but was tackled high and low by 2 different Tampa players. The 49ers held a 21-0 lead at the time of the injury, which came at about the 5-minute mark.
Samuel had 4 carries for 21 yards and a touchdown in the game, and also made 4 catches for 43 yards, on 5 targets.
One of the most dynamic players in the NFL, Samuel is a valuable part of the 49ers offense.
About 4 months ago, Samuel signed a contract extension with the 49ers that was reportedly for 3 years and $71.55 million, including $58.1 million guaranteed.
