Former Auburn QB Cam Newton walked off the stage during his postgame presser following Sunday night’s loss at Super Bowl 50.

It wasn’t his finest moment, though his frustration in the heat of the moment was certainly understandable.

That excuse didn’t stop NFL Hall of Famer and two-time Super Bowl champion Deion Sanders from laying into the Carolina Panthers QB during his post-game analysis for the NFL Network.

Fox Sports caught what Sanders said:

“You are the face of our brand right now,” Sanders said. “You can’t do that. I understand the emotions of losing. You can’t do that. A Manning, a Brady, all of those guys who have been prototypical [guys] would never do that.

“You can’t be dabbin’, smiling, styling and profiling when you win, so this is how you go out when you lose?”

Do you agree with Sanders? Should Cam be held to a higher standard of conduct if he’s going to be the perceived face of the National Football League?

Does the fact that it appears as though Newton may have left the press area because he could hear Denver Broncos answering questions about stopping Carolina change your opinion?
