Nick Saban made it clear he was open to playing HBCU schools such as Deion Sanders’ Jackson State squad at his SEC Media Days availability Tuesday.
Coach Prime answered back Thursday afternoon.
“We’re not ready for that,” Sanders said via WVTM Channel 13. “And we’re not into sacrificing our kids for a check.”
Sanders recently gained a commitment from the No, 1 player in the class of 2022, Travis Hunter and a 4-star receiver in Kevin Coleman. He explained that it’s not necessarily the skill position players that would make the game one-sided.
“It’s not the quarterbacks, it’s not the receivers and DBs or the skill positions,” Sanders said. “It’s those big dogs in the middle.”
