Deion Sanders has a message for college athletes navigating the new world of name, image and likeness opportunities.
The Jackson State head football coach took to Twitter to share words of advice with his 1.2 million followers.
“College athletes in ALL THY GETTING PLEASE GET SOME UNDERSTANDING!” Sanders tweeted. “Don’t allow this NIL stuff to mess up your future. Get a lawyer, take Marketing & Advertising classes for knowledge. You will also meet Uncle Sam for the 1st time. Take care of him! Your game comes before ‘NIL’.”
Coach Prime’s message comes after some of his own Jackson State players were among the first group of athletes to sign NIL deals.
3 Kings Grooming is also signing deals with four other Jackson State football players.
Thought just Power 5 stars & those with large social followings would strike deals? Wrong.

Sanders himself has partnered with Michael Strahan’s SMAC entertainment to help JSU players get NIL opportunities.
“It is PRIMETIME and about time that our student-athletes have an opportunity to make MONEY off of their name, image, and likeness. I am thrilled that these athletes can now financially and personally benefit from all that they do for their institutions and communities. This is a tremendous step in the right direction,” Sanders said in a released statement.
