Dennis Gates has added his latest transfer to the new roster of Missouri men’s basketball.
Noah Carter, a 6-foot-6 forward from Northern Iowa, announced his commitment to the Tigers on social media.
Carter was a second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection after he averaged 15 points per game in 32 games for the Panthers. He averaged 4.1 rebounds a game, and shot 48.1 percent from the field, including 29.9 percent from 3-point range, along with 79.4 percent from the free throw line.
Carter shared his thoughts about the decision with Power Mizzou.
“I really put my faith in God and I really think he’s shown me this is the place that I should call home,” Carter said. “I really believe in coach Gates and everybody in Missouri and believe that this is the place I am going to succeed so I thought it was time to let everybody know.”
Carter reportedly chose Mizzou over Florida, Arkansas, Marquette and Virginia Tech. He said he’s open to any position Gates sees fit.
“I would say I’m positionless,” Carter said. “Wherever you need me, that’s where I’m going to go,” Carter said. ““I think my ability to score at all three levels is gonna translate. My whole life I’ve been able to put the ball in the basket.”
I’m apart of a bigger plan… God’s plan🙏🏼 I’m happy to announce my commitment to play at the University of Missouri!!!🐯Go Tigers #MIZZOU #LetsGo #BeGreat pic.twitter.com/iXd5IPAXvv
