Vanderbilt football has had a rough 2020. The Commodores are off to an 0-3 start with losses to Texas A&M, LSU, and South Carolina, and had to have their Week 4 Missouri matchup postponed due to not having the number of players needed to field a team.

Head coach Derek Mason is full steam ahead, however, as Vanderbilt’s athletics department released a video on Tuesday showing him mic’d up at practice.

“Take advantage of it! Let’s go!” Mason can be heard saying, with a muffled voice under his facemask.

Mason is shown individually coaching several different positions on the practice field, which is also the game field on which the Commodores play in Vanderbilt Stadium. Mason even has a coaching moment with his kicker.

“Now that was a get-better practice,” says Mason at the end. “We come back to plan, process, and making sure you focus on the fundamentals.

“You guys did a great job at practice today. Appreciate what you did today.”

Vanderbilt will look to bounce back with a Halloween night game against Ole Miss next Saturday in Nashville.
