Alabama lands commitment from in-state athlete De’Rickey Wright

The nation’s No. 1 recruiting class just added another prospect to its list as three-star Attalla, Ala. native De’Rickey Wright has announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound standout from Etowah High School is rated as the No. 390 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 25 athlete by 247Sports Composite Rankings. He plays quarterback and safety for Etowah High School and has done enough on the field to recently receive scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ole Miss.

Following this news, Alabama’s 2020 recruiting class is now up to 14 commitments.

Wright announced his commitment by posting the following message on Twitter:

“First off I would like to thank God for blessing me with the ability and the mindset to play the sport I love! I would also like to thank my family and friends for staying in my corner and believing in me every step of the way! I would also like to thank every school for offering me and believing in my talent! I would like to thank my mom, and nana for being amazing and taking care of a young man the way y’all did is incredible!…

“With that being said I would like to that (sic) I’m committing to The University of Alabama! #RollTideRoll #GodMade”
