Derrick LeBlanc was a 4-star piece of the 2023 recruiting class for Oklahoma. He enrolled with the Sooners in January but announced his plans to enter the transfer portal last week.
As a part of his announcement, LeBlanc clarified his reasons for transferring so soon into his college career. He cited “unforeseen circumstances” that necessitated a move closer to home due to ongoing hardships. LeBlanc had intended to be “a Sooner for life” before those circumstances arose.
On Monday, LeBlanc announced his next destination, and he will be transferring to UCF to play for Gus Malzahn’s program:

Coming out of high school, LeBlanc was a 4-star recruit and the No. 33 DL in the country per the 247 Sports Composite. He was also rated the 49th player from the state of Florida for the class of 2023.
Listed at 6-foot-4.5 and 265 pounds, LeBlanc played for Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida. A move to UCF definitely fits the “closer to home” part of his previous transfer announcement.
