Desmond Howard is a big fan of the way Jayden Daniels is playing this year and for good reason.

Daniels has been putting up some crazy numbers in the LSU offense. Howard joined Get Up on Friday to talk about Daniels this season.

Howard said that Daniels is playing at a Heisman-type level. The LSU quarterback has been out of this world. Daniels has 2,573 yards passing and 30 touchdowns.

“When you ask the Alabama defensive coaches the key to stopping this LSU offense, it’s Jayden Daniels. He’s playing at a Heisman-caliber level right now,” said Daniels. “He’s accounted for 30 touchdowns and only three interceptions. The defense is gonna have to try to limit the explosive plays, but more importantly is keeping Jayden Daniels in the pocket. He’s a quarterback that’s playing a Heisman-type level and I’m just amazed by it.”

Heisman winners have always stepped up when their team has needed them the most and Daniels has a chance to do that against the tough Alabama defense.

The Crimson Tide have allowed the third-fewest yards per game (306.4) in the SEC. This matchup should have everything fans want to see in a college football game.

The environment won’t be any tougher for LSU since the game is in Tuscaloosa. LSU could do something that few teams do in Bryant-Denny Stadium if it comes away with a win.
