No. 15 NC State announced some rough news on Saturday. The Wolfpack will be without QB Devin Leary for the remainder of the 2022 season.

Leary left NC State’s Week 6 win over Florida State with a shoulder injury. He was already reported to be ruled out for the Wolfpack’s Saturday showdown with Syracuse. It turns out that Leary’s injury was more significant than previously thought.

NC State shared a social media announcement revealing that imaging revealed that Leary is dealing with a torn pectoral muscle. Leary will have surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews, a name familiar to sports fans everywhere.

The good news is that NC State says Leary has no damage to his shoulder. He is expected to make a full recovery.

In 2022, his fourth season, Leary was 118-of-193 passing for 1,265 yards, 11 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, earning him notable 2023 NFL Draft buzz.
