It has been a good football weekend if you are an Alabama fan.

First, the Crimson Tide took care of rival LSU, 42-28, to move into the driver’s seat in a hotly contested SEC West. With the win, Nick Saban moved to 2nd all-time for the most wins at one SEC school with 202.

There are countless NFL players who played their collegiate careers at Alabama, and one of them is Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith.

Smith just made his presence felt in the game against the Dallas Cowboys, as he caught a 29-yard touchdown pass to put the Eagles up, 21-17, in the 3rd quarter.

That was Smith’s 2nd catch of the game, as he now has 2 catches for 48 yards and that touchdown. The matchup between the Eagles and Cowboys is a big one, as the Eagles could create a big gap in the NFC East standings with a win.

Smith won the 202o Heisman trophy at Alabama, becoming the 1st wide receiver to win the award since Desmond Howard won it in 1991. He was also the first non-quarterback or running back to win the award since Charles Woodson in 1997.

In 2020, he had 98 catches for 1,511 yards and 17 touchdowns, while setting an SEC championship game record with 15 catches.
