DeVonta Smith has had a great opening game in the NFL, and living up to why the Philadelphia Eagles drafted him No. 10 overall out of Alabama in the NFL Draft last spring.
On Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, Smith had 6 catches on 8 targets and went for 71 yards with an 18-yard touchdown. The Eagles are off to a great start as they lead the Falcons 22-6 with less than 6 minutes remaining in the game.
Smith made several fantasy football owners regret not putting him in a more prominent role on their teams to start the season.
Some fans noted how Smith was considered too small by some in the pre-draft time period who questioned whether he could truly be a dynamic player in the NFL.

DeVonta Smith is the 3rd Eagles WR since the NFL merger (since 1970) to record a rec TD in their first NFL game joining Cris Carter and Marvin Hargrove pic.twitter.com/kxhBiPQUsP

Looks like the DeVonta Smith TD will still count for 6 points despite him weighing 166 pounds #Eagles
