Did Urban Meyer just refuse to fire Zach Smith? New 2013 arrest surfaces for Smith

Ohio State is currently conducting an investigation regarding former assistant Zach Smith, who allegedly had domestic violence issues in 2009 and 2015 with his ex-wife.
But those apparently aren’t the only issues in Smith’s past.
A new report by The Toledo Blade surfaced on Monday that reported that Smith was arrested in 2013 for drunk driving. However, he was found guilty of physical control, a first-degree misdemeanor, and the operating a vehicle while intoxicated charge was amended and the speeding charge dismissed.
Smith was pulled over at 2:43 a.m. on Feb. 23, 2013, in Dublin, Ohio, for going 67 mph in a 50 mph zone. He refused a breathalyzer test, and, according to The Toledo Blade, the officer noted in the police report that he “observed Smith’s eyes to be red and glassy. There was a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle.”
However, Smith remained on Urban Meyer’s staff at Ohio State following that incident.
Smith, who coached wide receivers for the Buckeyes, was fired last month after his domestic violence allegations were reported. Meyer denied knowing about those allegations at the time they occurred, but reports released since his initial comments may have proved otherwise.
