Arguably the most anticipated game of the 2025 SEC schedule is set to kick off this Saturday down in Tuscaloosa between the No. 16 Vanderbilt Commodores and the No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide.

The 2 sides met last season in Nashville in what ended up being the wider college football world’s introduction to star Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, who led the Commodores to a shocking upset of the No. 1-ranked Tide.

Now, Pavia has led Vanderbilt to their best start to a season in recent memory, and he will be looking to once again shock the world by knocking off Alabama for a second straight year.

Pavia and the Commodores will be going on the road this time around, and the Crimson Tide fanbase is unlikely to make things easy for their opponents in a sold-out Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Pavia knows what he’s walking into, though, and he told On3’s Chris Low that the sound shouldn’t be an issue for the Commodores as long as they do what they’re supposed to on the field.

“The crowd, I think, is going to be a big factor in the game,” Pavia said. “But we just gotta play within the white lines. If we do that, if we play our game, it won’t be close.”

When it comes to self-confidence, there probably isn’t a single player in all of college football who has more than Pavia, and this is just the latest example. He’s laid the gauntlet down; now it will be up to him and his teammates to back it up on the field this Saturday.
