DJ Lagway comments on future at Florida in wake of Billy Napier firing

Florida quarterback DJ Lagway isn’t sweating the fallout from Billy Napier’s firing. The sophomore says he’s locked in on the team, and getting better at his craft.
“I’m a Florida Gator, man,” Lagway told reporters on Monday. “My biggest focus right now is these five games.”

Lagway has shown flashes of playmaking ability this season, whether it’s extending a drive with his legs or threading the ball into tight windows. The big challenge has been staying consistent, but Lagway seems to be making progress.
Lagway has thrown from 1,513 yards and 9 touchdowns so far this season. He’s thrown for at least 245 yards in each of Florida’s last 3 games, leading the Gators to a pair of wins over that period.
Florida will be idle in Week 9 as it prepares to face rival Georgia on Nov. 1.
