Former South Carolina linebacker DJ Wonnum got the first defensive touchdown of his career Sunday after a chaotic play.
After the Minnesota Vikings defense brought down Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Bryce Young and forced a fumble, Wonnum scooped up the ball and found 50 yards of open field ahead of him and carried the ball to the endzone.

It was a huge play for the Vikings as it gave them the lead late in the 3rd quarter against the Panthers. The Vikings found the end zone again a few drives alter and now hold a 21-13 lead over the Panthers with less than 10 minutes to go in the game.
If the Vikings can pull it out, it will be their first win of the season, and they’ll have Wonnum’s scoop and score to thank for the win.
