Parton, 77, was inspired to record “Rockstar” after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022. The album features performances from Sting, Steve Perry, Ann Wilson, John Fogerty, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Chris Stapleton, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Rob Halford, Nikki Sixx and others. It is set to be released on Nov. 17.
A Tennessee native, Parton has been the subject of multiple fan campaigns to be the College GameDay celebrity guest picker in Knoxville. We’ll see if the Vols and Parton can make it happen this season.
